This Saturday: A Black Moon Halloween w/ Buckshot

10/22/2013 - 2:26pm

This Saturday October 26, A Black Moon Halloween, starring hip hop legend, Buckshot.

An integral force in the 90's era New York hip hop renaissance, Buckshot gained prominence as co founder of the juggernaut indie label, Duck Down Music, leader of the Boot Camp Clik, and one third of the hip hop group Black Moon (alongside 5 ft and DJ Evil Dee). Most notable for their debut album Enta da Stage, Black Moon's signature sound -- hard and heavy drum loops splashed with cleverly sampled jazz riffs -- provided the perfect premise for Buckshot's raspy voice and boastful lyrical wordplay. This rap recipe laid the way for a powerful underground hip hop movement which still pulsates worldwide today.

The night will also feature performances from Buffalo hip hop veterans Kool Taj the Gr8, Thrice Third and Bogustice; with DJ Charlie the Butcher will be providing the dance tunes throughout the night. Costume contests, cash prizes and drink specials will be in effect all night and doors at Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar (253 Allen St, Buffalo NY) open at 9pm. We hope to see you there.
