News Article Title:
Mr. Green - 'Live From The Streets' Album Stream & Purchase
News Article:

Mr. Green presents Live From The Streets, the first ever album of songs from the popular VICE/Noisey series by the same name.

The project features Freddie Gibbs, KRS-One, Matisyahu, Vinnie Paz, Malik B of The Roots Crew, Skrewtape, Hakim Green + new songs from Bodega Bamz and Raz Fresco.

'Live from the Streets' is a video series created by producer Mr. Green and director Sam Lipman-Stern. The series, which airs on Noisey, follows Green globally on a journey meeting interesting people and musicians on the streets. Green samples their music; interviews the street performer; and then turns the sounds into original beats. After the beat is created, he collaborates with one of his favorite rappers to add powerful lyrics to the musical backdrop he and the street musician constructed. Finally, at the end of each episode, Green revisits the people he sampled to play them the final track; often times receiving emotional responses from people who have never heard themselves on recorded audio. The final episodes are a unique hybrid music/video experience.

Mr. Green - "New Jack City Is Mine" ft. Lumin Hao, Bodega Bamz

News Article Title:
Mr. Green - "New Jack City Is Mine" ft. Lumin Hao, Bodega Bamz
News Article:

From Mr. Green "This is a track off the Live from the Streets album dropping at midnight, it features Lumin Hao and Bodega Bamz. It was pretty smooth how it all came together, first we met a dope street musician named Lumin Hao on the Q Train subway platform down at Canal Street. He was playing some pretty amazing songs but when we talked to him about his music he was super humble and didn't want to admit that he was good. After we hung out with him for a bit, we went back to the studio, I chopped everything up and made a beat. When the beat was done we headed uptown to Bodega Bamz secret studio so he could lay down vocals. It was a pretty crazy experience, when we got to the spot, it didn't look anything like a building that should have a studio in it. We thought we were in the wrong place but then Bamz came out and brought us in. First he led us down a hallway, then down some stairs into the basement, then we had to walk for a while, then climb up a few steps and go through a circular whole in the wall... at that point it felt like we were going into the sewer but after just one more door we were in a really nice studio space. The music process went perfectly, Bamz and his bro Ohla poured us some Henny and we all just drank and listened to the beat while Bamz wrote. The scene was pretty crazy, it kind of felt like a mix of the ninja turtles and wildstyle. About 30 minutes later Bamz went in the booth while holding a Machete and laid his verse down... Dope."

In the third episode of Live from the Streets, we take you to Old City to meet up with Jus Allah. Jus was chilling out at Gigi's Bar and Grille and was cool enough to give us a quick shout out. After that, we introduce Janice, a friendly traveler from down South with a Ukulele.

She had been on the road for a while but she took the time to play us her own version of one of her favorite songs by Andrew Jackson Jihad.

Finally, we head down to city hall which is currently being occupied by Protestors and we take a look around.

You can stream the entire song, featuring PaceWon Official and Vinnie Paz on Soundcloud:

Mr. Green Talks 'Live From The Streets' On The Library With Tim

News Article Title:
Mr. Green Talks 'Live From The Streets' On The Library With Tim
News Article:

This week on The Library with Tim Einenkel, Tim talks to producer, DJ, host, and creator Mr. Green about his web series Live From The Streets (Vice Media Noisey) as well as the album Live From The Streets (Duck Down Records).

What's Mr. Green's artistic attraction to the street musician performancer?

“I love it. I think it's beautiful. If I were more of a traditional musician with instruments and not hip-hop, I would probably play out in the street because there's no middle man...If you actually want to have a music career, you have to deal with a lot B.S...It's not really artistic. If you just want to play an instrument and make a few bucks, and you don't really want to have to deal with the music industry, the music business, you can go out an rock anywhere...That's a great thing.”
